Benefits-of-a-fish-finder---fishing-with-the-lowrance-x107c-df-tm-fish-finder-
By Bishop-Corsair
There are some great finders available today. If you enjoy fishing using
a boat, or if you have to navigate narrow waterways it is much more enjoyable
and easier if you have a fishfinder.
How many times have you gone out to and come home fishless. You spend
all that time and money on your equipment, head out on the lake find your place
then cast about, hoping there would be around. Then after hours of nothing,
you head home after a great day of boating and casting. A finder puts an
end to all that.
if you use a sonar, you can be reeling them in minutes after finding your
fishing hole.
What are the benefits of a fish finder?
Well, they are many, depending on what you have on your finder. The depth
sounder determines the depth of the water you are in along with finding
, you you can use the depth finder to navigate shallow waterways safely. GPS
added to a finder lets you know in an instant where you are no matter where
you are. Lets say you are 20 miles from home and its high noon and your compass
just broke and you cant see the shoreline. All you do is check the GPS installed
into your finder and you are immediately aware of exactly where you are.
I'm not talking about having to read a bunch of numbers and determine where
you are, I'm talking about a visual display showing you where you are on a map
accurate to within 3 meters. That is worth the money alone when you are offshore.

GPS has made the allure of the finder even greater by providing the full
range of capabilities of a typical GPS unit. You can mark waypoints, chart courses
and pinpoint the exact location of your favorite fishing holes, so you can return
to that very spot at a later time. Many models come with GPS, many do not. The

requirement for it depends on what type of fishing you are doing. If you are
in a relatively small lake, there is no need for GPS.
All through the LOWRANCE X107C does not come with GPS, it is still a great
finder. Lowrance electronics is world renown for their electronic equipment.
When you start up the LOWRANCE X107C once out on the water, you will notice
that the display is quite easy to interpret. The bottom of the screen shows
the layout of the bottom of the body of water beneath your boat, in monochrome
or as with some of the newest models crisp high resolution color. Some even
have a 3 dimensional display that can display a nice cross section of the sea
floor. You will see how to differentiate objects and ground clutter on the bottom.
Then you will see these funny little arch's cruising around within the view.
Those are the fish.
The different finder manufacturers produce different firmware that runs
the sonar. This results in the display appearing a little different, because
of the sonar interpretation among the manufacturers, but they all perform practically
the same function. Finder companies are always trying to stay on the leading
edge to improve the receiver and sonar technology with every new product that
is released. Many finders can decipher the arch of a and show a calculated
guess of the mass of the with a neat little digital image of a and
its approximate size with a numerical value.
